The dashboard collects data related to road accidents from national highways and state roads. It helps authorities identify accident-prone areas, commonly known as black spots. Based on this data, officials can take preventive measures such as improving road design, installing warning signs, and increasing traffic monitoring.
One of the key features of this dashboard is its integration with emergency services. When an accident occurs, alerts are automatically sent to ambulances, police, and fire departments. This quick response system is expected to save many lives by reducing the time taken to provide medical help.
The dashboard also provides early warnings to drivers about dangerous road conditions and accident-prone zones. The Ministry of Road Transport stated that this initiative will improve coordination between the central and state governments. Experts believe this move is very important, as thousands of people lose their lives every year due to road accidents in India.
